Hello everyone!
I just wanted to share some really sad news with you all. The Class of 1984 has lost another member today...Brad Wilcox died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Sunday, August 27, 2006. I know that Brad was a well liked person back in school and got along with everyone...he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this tough time!
I will post more information as I get it...I'm sure the obituary will be in the Southern Illinoisan on Thursday, August 31, 2006...probably in their online edition also.
That is 4 from our class that we've lost since graduation....Jim Hunziker, Angela Lindsey, Dan Adams and now, Brad Wilcox. Something tells me that Jim, Dan and Brad have hooked up to shoot some hoops, hit a few baseballs and maybe even throw a football already!

Words of Gratitude and Some Goals for the Websites
Now that the members of the Class of 1984 have returned home after a great weekend with old friends I want to personally say thank you to all of you who helped make the 20th Class Reunion memorable.
Tracy Frishkorn – the class books are fantastic! Thanks for setting them up and getting them printed! I hope you are available for the next one.
Debbie Aldridge Burroughs – Thanks for keeping the books and heading up the committee! All of your time and commitment is appreciated. Are you still willing to work on another reunion? I am if you are.
Amy Nelson Karg, Colleen Marcy Hoffman, Anji Lewis, Nancy Penrod Caskey, Kent Eaton, Lynn Rieckenberg, Todd Ellis, and Karen Arbeiter Jurich – Thanks for all of the hours of meetings you attended…these were actually a lot of fun! Huge thanks for all of the countless hours you all spent searching for addresses so everyone from our class could be included in the reunion. I think we did a great job on this considering we started from scratch.
Mike Robinson – Thanks for you help decorating for Saturday night! I do not think I would have gotten all of those photos placed without you. Now, let’s work on getting the photos that we took Saturday uploaded for everyone to see and gathering some for the next reunion.
To all of you who enjoyed the many photos I reprinted for Saturday – Thanks! I loved seeing your faces as you walked around finding photos of yourself and our fellow classmates. I had a blast doing this for the reunion and for all of you.
I have also enjoyed working on the reunion committee and writing updates for the three websites.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Murphysboro_High_School_Class_of_1984/
www.classmates.com
I hope to continue posting updates about our class for as long as there is interest.
My short-term goal is to get photos uploaded from the 20th Class Reunion as well as some other posts about what happened during the weekend. It may take a while for me as work and family keep me quite busy so bear with me. I know those classmates who didn’t attend may be curious about everything so I will try to update a little more each chance I get.
My long-term goal is to have a website that is easily accessed where classmates can keep their vital information – a current email address and a contact (me) who can keep an updated class directory (email and snail mail) in order to make the hardest job of the reunion committee easier for future reunions.
I do not plan to retain my membership at classmates.com when it expires in February 2005 simply because we now have a website devoted to Murphysboro High School thanks to Andrew Hargreave, spouse of LeighAnn Meisner, Class of 1984. This site is free to register and is free of pop-up ads. I will continue to moderate the yahoo group I started for our class as long as the interest remains.
If anyone has any news about the Class of 1984, post at the message boards or email me so I can post the information. I can foresee a newsletter format, posted quarterly, down the road in order to keep up to date on our classmates. Until the next reunion, keep checking for updates at the following websites.
www.murphysborohighschool.com http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Murphysboro_High_School_Class_of_1984/
Thanks again to everyone who made the 20th Class Reunion both a memorable and successful event!
Laura G.
